Re-designing a platform to instill slickness and improve software delivery by 40%
A month into my new role in a forming design team and a hyper scale up company, I was asked to take on the challenge of designing and rolling out the first design system; as a side project to my actual role.
I recall my first week designing a feature with screenshots from production because we didn’t have any sources of truth. Engineers had largely been designing and building the platform, which was the harsh reality of the state of the platform. And why we received feedback from Sales about how hard the product was to market against competitors.
We set out on the journey to align the interface to Omnipresent’s objectives, values and user base, enhance usability and position the platform as a slick and reliable partner. It was to become a pillar of the companies product development lifecycle.
